Facility Issue:

An abandoned building that required complete gutting and structural rebuilding. One portion of the building was over 100 years old, with the other part 40-50 years old.

After

Task:

The re-work project involved complete structural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and architectural design work.

Solution:

The resulting project was a complete change-of-use, with in eight residential suites and two commercial suites in the finished product.  Work included site plan works for the renovation and a minor variance application to the City.

The project was started in 2014 and completed in 2018. After completion of the re-build, the property was valued in excess of $2,000,000.

Facility Issue:

This project is an adaptive re-use of a notable historic building into a performing arts centre, office space and affordable housing for artists. It knits two disjointed century buildings together with a new scenic elevator.This renovation is intended to be a catalyst of Hamilton’s Gore Park area in the Downtown. With its limited budget, this project has done more with less.

Task:

Weekes was charged with HVAC, Emergency / Electrical, and Natural Gas service plans, for the renovation project.
